KRRA race series
January to November, Mile to Half Marathon distances
The KRRA Race Series consists of the following races:
Resolution Run 8K
Held in early January (typically the first Sunday), it is the first race in the KRRA Race Series. It is also a KRRA directed event and has both 4K and 8K distances. The Resolution Run is 8K and often sub-zero temperatures. Click here for more details.
Twosome 5K Run
Held in mid-February, the Twosome offers a unique team “twosome” format as well as solo competition for KRRA race series points. Click here for more details.
Limestone Race Weekend – 5K, 10K, Half Marathon
Held the last weekend in April. Saturday features two Saturday races: the Kids Tommy Compton Memorial Run*, and the Waterfront 10K. On Sunday, the 5K and Historic Half Marathon start and finish at historic Kingston City Hall. Click here for more details.
Napanee Heritage 5K
Enjoy the beautiful town of Napanee with this community run. There is a Kid’s Mile Race*. It is the first race of the Waterside Series which includes the Napanee Heritage 5K, the Wolfe Island Classic, and the Wooly Bully. There will be custom Waterside medals to those who finish all three races. Click here for more details.
Canada Day Limestone Mile
It’s intense. It’s fast. It’s two Kids races, a women’s race, a men’s race. It’s four short races in one morning. The KRRA Canada Day Limestone Mile occurs every Canada Day. Click here for more details.
Wolfe Island Classic 5K
This event takes place on the first Sunday in July on Wolfe Island. There is also a 10K* and a Kids Mile* race. This is the second event which is part of the Waterside Series. Both the 5K and 10K are eligible. Click here for more details.
Wooly Bully 10K
There is also a 5K* and a Kids KM race*. This event takes place on the third Sunday of August on Amherst Island. This is the third race; part of the Waterside Series. Click here for more details.
Glen Tay Block Race 14.7K
This 100+ year old race takes place on the last Thursday night in August in downtown Perth, Ontario. It’s unusual distance measuring a rural block. Click here for more details.
Fort Henry 5KXC
The only cross-country race in the series. It is held on the third Saturday in September and features two loops on the cross country trail atop Fort Henry Hill. It also offers a Kids 1KXC Race*. Click here for more details.
The County Half Marathon
This event is held the first Sunday in October. This is the autumn half marathon for the Series. There is also a full marathon* (BQ) and 5K* that are not part of the Series. Click here for more details.
Anniversary Run 10K / ‘Round the Airport
Held the first Sunday in November. It starts and finishes at The Landings Golf & Teaching Centre and takes runners through a scenic course in the west end of Kingston including Lemoine Point. There is also a kids One-Miler Cross Country Run* prior to the 10K. Click here for more details.
KRRA members (signed up before July 1) accumulate points throughout the year based on results in each race they have entered. Series awards are presented at the AGM in late November. Read more details on how the Race Series Standings are calculated here.
